Queen Mary, University of London
Queen Mary University (QMUL) is part of the the mega University of London with a strong medical background. It was originally formed when 4 institutions merged (Queen Mary College, St Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical College, Westfield College and the London Hospital Medical College), the oldest of which dates back to 1123 when there was a medical college in Bartholomew’s Hospital. The main part of the university is based in the Mile End part of East End of London.

Queen Mary University has approximately places for 16,000 students and is supported by 3,000 staff. This makes it one of the larger universities in the University of London.
The university is structured into 3 faculties:
- Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry
- Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences
- Faculty of Science and Engineering
Queens Mary’s University has 3 campuses:
- Mile End Campus (for nearly 2,000 places)
- Whitechapel Campus (around 150 places)
- Charterhouse Square Campus
All accommodation includes single bed, desk chair and storage space. Most have a computer network connection.
Queens Mary University students like other universities in the UOL it is able to apply for UOL intercollegiate accommodation.
Queens Mary was ranked in 35th position in 2014 by the Complete University Guide.
Queens Mary’s University was ranked as 147th in the World by the QS rankings in 2012/2013.
QMUL is rated 36 2011 by the Times Good University Guide.
Queen Mary will be charging £9,000 for Home/EU students for undergraduate degrees from 2012.
